Rail Drayage
Ramp-to-door intermodal moves
We connect the Pacific Northwest rail ramps to warehouses across Washington and Oregon. Whether it is an inbound IPI container off the ramp or an outbound loaded box that needs to hit a cutoff, our fleet keeps rail freight moving on schedule.

Ramp Operations
We handle notification-to-pickup on inbound rail containers and drive outbound ingates against firm rail cutoffs, with tracking updates at pickup, delivery and ingate.
Rail + Port Blending
Because we also run port drayage daily, we can blend rail and marine moves in the same dispatch plan — fewer bobtail miles, faster turns, better rates for you.
Empty & Street Turns
Where the steamship line and shipper line up, we arrange street turns so a returning empty becomes your next export load instead of a wasted trip.
What's Included
- —Inbound ramp pickups and outbound ingates
- —Cutoff-driven scheduling
- —Street-turn coordination to cut empty miles

Why D&G
Why choose D&G for rail drayage
Cutoff-driven dispatch
Outbound rail moves are planned backwards from the ingate cutoff, not forwards from whenever a truck happens to free up.
Rail and marine on one plan
Because the same fleet works the ports daily, rail and port moves are blended into one dispatch plan and fewer empty miles.
Status at every milestone
You get updates at pickup, delivery and ingate rather than a single message after the fact.
Process
How it works
- 01
Notification received
Inbound ramp availability or the outbound booking and cutoff comes to dispatch.
- 02
Ramp slot planned
The move is scheduled against ramp hours and the firm cutoff, with equipment assigned in advance.
- 03
Drayed to destination
Inbound boxes go to the consignee; outbound loads are ingated ahead of the cutoff.
- 04
Equipment recovered
Empties are returned or, where the line and shipper allow, street-turned into the next load.

Our trucks. Our chassis. Our yard.
GPS-equipped fleet
Every tractor is GPS-equipped, which matters most on rail work where an ingate either happens before the cutoff or does not happen at all.
