Safety & Compliance

Safety is built into every part of our operation.

At D&G Transport, protecting our drivers, customers, equipment and freight is a core part of how we operate. Our team follows established transportation safety procedures and maintains our fleet and equipment to support safe, reliable and compliant operations.

Section 01

DOT & FMCSA Compliance

D&G Transport is committed to operating in line with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements. That commitment covers driver qualification, hours of service, vehicle inspection and maintenance, and the recordkeeping that supports them.

Our operating authority is public: USDOT 3247657, MC 1046040. Anyone can look up our carrier record directly on the FMCSA website.

Driver Training & Qualifications

Every driver is onboarded before running loads for D&G, and safety education continues after that. Training focuses on the procedures and equipment our drivers use every day in port and rail work.

  • —Driver onboarding and qualification review
  • —Ongoing safety education
  • —Standard operating procedures for yard, terminal and delivery work
  • —Equipment awareness for tractors, chassis and containers
  • —Applicable licensing and certifications for the work assigned
  • —Hazmat requirements where applicable to the load
  • —Safe port and terminal operations

Modern ELD & Fleet Technology

D&G uses electronic logging devices and fleet technology to record driver hours, support accurate logs and give our operations team visibility into where equipment is. This helps drivers and dispatch stay within hours-of-service rules and supports compliant, well-coordinated operations.

Section 04

Equipment Inspections

Preventative inspection is part of the daily routine. Drivers complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and problems found are reported and addressed before equipment goes back into service.

  • —Trucks: brakes, tires, lights, steering, coupling and fluid checks
  • —Chassis: tires, lights, twist locks, landing gear and brakes
  • —Trailers and other equipment: condition checks before dispatch
  • —Reefer-related equipment: checks where applicable to the load

In-House Maintenance & Service

Reliability starts before our trucks ever hit the road.

D&G Transport operates an in-house maintenance and repair shop with a dedicated mechanic, allowing us to proactively service and maintain our trucks, chassis and equipment.

Routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs are handled directly at our facility to help keep our fleet safe, compliant and road-ready.

By maintaining our equipment in-house, our team can identify and address potential issues before they result in roadside breakdowns or unnecessary service delays.

This supports greater reliability, fewer disruptions and dependable transportation for the shipments we handle.
